Testimonials

The Zooropia course operated by Rod Baber remains a very popular part of our visitor experience, and over the past 10 years of operation we have received excellent feedback from the many tens of thousands of guests who have enjoyed participating on it. Rod has provided high quality staff throughout the term of contract. They are all extremely enthusiastic and engage well with guests-including encouraging the younger ones, or those with nervous disposition, to complete the course where possible. Many of our Zoo members return to Zooropia for multiple visits every year.

The course itself is well designed, and it has a first rate safety record. Safety is of prime concern to Rod and his team at all times, and something they all take extremely seriously.

We always aim to have a strong working relationship with our commercial partners, and ensure that their operation works as an integral part of our own operation and with the same ethos. This has been an essential part of the success of our partnership with Head 4 Heights, and why the contract has been extended several times.

Wendy Walton, Director of Commercial Operations, Bristol Zoo

Rod’s enthusiasm and dedication are truly unmatched. His commitment was unwavering, and his attention to detail in every aspect of the project was remarkable. Rod’s ability to see the big picture while also focusing on the detail proved invaluable whilst exploring possible ventures at London Zoo.

Not only did Rod bring a high level of professionalism to the table, but he also exhibited remarkable interpersonal skills. His ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders alike was first class. Rod’s open-mindedness and adaptability allowed us to navigate challenges with ease, always seeking innovative solutions.

It is without hesitation that I recommend Rod for any future endeavours. His expertise, work ethic, and unwavering support for London Zoo have left an indelible mark, and I look forward to any opportunity to collaborate with him again in the future.

TripAdvisor Traveller Overview

Gloucester Rugby Senior Squad spent a fantastic day with Head 4 Heights. The aim was to put the groups of players into challenging scenarios and observe how they reacted as a team to each scenario. Rod and his team at Head 4 Heights were thorough and professional and combined the serious art of climbing and belaying with enjoyment so that the players and staff at Gloucester Rugby came away with a memorable experience. The general feel good factor and team building response from the day was extremely worthwhile and I would recommend it to individuals and groups of all ages as a great day out.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your team for making yesterday so brilliant. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and definitely brought us, quite literally, closer together – especially on the very tall ‘bird table’! It was a great effort from everyone I thought, especially those who overcame a few fears!! A lot of pictures having been flying around the office today of everyone’s triumphs!

Louisa Green – National Trust

I just wanted to let you know the team had a really fantastic time yesterday and were buzzing when they got back. Thanks for making it such a great experience for them.

A fun, challenging and exciting experience.

A very good relaxed hour of fun for the children, testing climbs but achievable with the right level of encouragement from the two instructors who were supportive and professional throughout. Would recommend a visit.

Amazing experience! This place certainly was amazing, the activities were exciting and the place was well kept with a nice environment. The instructors (Dave and Ollie) were very supportive and friendly, especially making sure that everyone was safe but also comfortable with the height and level of difficulty to make the experience very enjoyable. They also made fun challenges for people who wanted an extra difficulty. The whole experience took about 3 hours including lunch and ice cream with 60 minutes of activities (such as the leap of faith, free fall and totem pole challenge all of which were great fun). I would definitely recommend to anyone with a daring personality and a head for heights!

Highly Recommend. Excellent hour with Dave and Aggie for our 3 children aged 14, 12 and 9. They’re all proper daredevils so no nerves to contend with but they made it fun by introducing little challenges as nothing like sibling rivalry to get the kids going. Kids care off buzzing and would have loved to carry on longer. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again if we are in the area.

Thank you once again for last week, the pupils loved the Head for Heights experience. It was so great to hear them talking about how they had overcome a fear of going up and built more trust with others in their tutor groups. Hopefully Enrichment Week will run next year and we will be back!

I’d like to leave feedback for that [Zooropia] actually. My 5 year old (despite insisting he wanted to do ZooRopia) became very scared as he progressed through the course. John managed to calm him down and talked him around virtually the entire course, which I was so grateful for. Could you please pass that on to the powers that be? The way he engaged with him was fantastic. I’m sure he sees a lot of frightened children but he was incredibly patient with him.

Superb Experience. My wife and I along with our son visited Bristol Zoo yesterday and we would like to tell you about our experience specifically at Zooropia.

The general zoo visit was, as always, a great day out.
Our son Myron, who is 13 and Autistic, decided he wanted to try the Zooropia challenge.

We asked at the reception where you book tickets if one of the team could go round with him because of his Autism and also that English is not his first language as he is originally from Crete in Greece.

They suggested, as it was a busy day, we ask the staff first to ensure they were able to help and they were more than happy to oblige even though there were many people queuing.

A lovely young lady named Katheryn (I didn’t get her surname) took Myron around the entire course helping him at every stage and continually encouraging and praising him.

I cannot express our thanks enough to Katheryn, the positive affect this had on Myron was beyond any expectation.

To be given the chance to step out of his comfort zone and to be helped and encouraged at every step put a smile on his face for the rest of the day and has boosted his self confidence massively.

We could not stop to thank her personally as she was still up in the ropes helping other people but we did manage to get her christian name and your Email from the reception.

Please pass on this letter of thanks to her and if you have any kind of reward structure for exemplary staff please put her name forward.

I have worked in retail all my life and teach great customer service on various courses and this was definitely superb service.

Thank you for your time.

My great nephew who is only 5 and a half years old, went on the above attraction last Wednesday 30/8/18 and was in tears just as he got to the first platform. I don’t think he really knew what he was supposed to do to be honest! Your helper (who I don’t have a name for but who was dressed in fancy leggings and a purple hoodie) was absolutely wonderful. He went from crying and saying he wanted to get down to really enjoying it, all because of this lady helper. I have never seen a young child go from having no confidence to being so very confident, all in a matter of 30 minutes.

The highlight to our visit to the Cotswolds.

Successful operation.

Since 2003 Head 4 Heights has run a successful operation and complied with all their obligations as a tenant.

We spent a fantastic 90 minutes at Head 4 Heights in Luke and Aggy’s capable hands. They were both superb at getting us up every obstacle and encouraging us to go that little further.

We had an 11 year old and a 9 year old with us – and they loved it as much as we did. A brilliant family activity.

Brilliant Time

My 6 year old daughter completed the ropes course today. She enjoyed it so much thanks to Josh! He was fantastic with her. She got scared and upset on one of the first obstacles and he went straight up to guide and help her. He was kind, patient and spoke to her so brilliantly. He was reassuring and made sure that she had fun! I would love for him to get special recognition as both myself and my daughter Tiah were so impressed by him! It truly made our day.

We always have a brilliant time at Bristol zoo and today was no exception. Thank you to all the staff for your hard and dedicated work!

We all had a great day, your instructors were brilliant. One of us even got over her fear of heights and noe can’t wait to go again.
